Aims of Lecture Oral English implements active learning and focuses on communicating in English by using interactions between students through practical dialogues. It provides topics where students can share their ideas and experiences as well as build their confidence in terms of conversation, listening, reading, and writing in English.
At the end of every lecture, the students will be able to: 1. expressing themselves in English using practical dialogues in a variety of daily life activities 2. develop listening skills through targeted tasks and visual cues 3. interact with other students following English language models 4. using and extending English grammar in speaking and in writing 5. develop simple presentation skills 6. promote personalized writing

Oral English lectures will start with introduction of self in class and meeting other students in class. Units 1 – 6 will be discussed in class from week 2 to week 15 with various topics.

1. How to Prepare the Lecture Oral English lectures are prepared by following the required textbook, English First Hand 1 with a CD for the listening part. To evaluate students, quizzes will be given after every topic with mostly essay questions to develop writing skills and to enable students to express their thoughts and feelings on a particular topic.
2. Example of Student Task from the Lecture a. Speaking Students follow the language model from the textbook. b. Listening Students listen to the CD and answer questions from what they hear. c. Reading Students read short stories from the textbook and answer questions being asked. d. Writing Students write essay topics based on the story in the textbook.

Students will be given tasks on every topic being discussed to recall, comprehend, and practice fluency especially in English vocabulary and are expected to review.
|
Try to extensively speak English all throughout the whole 90 minutes of Oral Communication class.
