2.授業の目的
(1)授業の目的
This course helps students develop the English language skills necessary to be successful in contemporary corporate environments. Each class meeting, students will have the opportunity to discuss issues facing Japanese business and practice listening, reading, speaking, and writing in English to improve their chances of success in corporate settings where English is the lingua franca.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will:
1. Improve their fluency in topics related to contemporary corporate cultures
2. See improved confidence in their ability to succeed in English speaking business environments
3. Continued to develop their English language abilities in the four skill areas

3.授業の概要
Over the course of the semester we will work through our textbook to develop English language skills in the four areas.

4.授業の受け方・勉強の仕方
(1)予習の仕方
Students should complete the assigned textbook and online actives in before each class meeting.
(2)授業の受け方
To be successful in this course students must actively participate in each class meeting. This course takes a dialogic approach to teaching and learning about uses of English in corporate settings, as a result consistent, active participation from students is necessary.
(3)復習の仕方
Students should review the pages covered in class each week. Students are encouraged to take notes and put into practice the skills learned in class meetings.

5.受講にあたってのルール
The success of this course depends upon students active and informed participation. Students should complete all assignments before class, actively participate in class, and review each lesson at the conclusion of each class meeting. It is possible to attend all classes and still fail this course. Students challenging grades earned on class work or their final grade should be aware that it is possible to receive a lower grade after review. Students are expected to do their own work. Penalties for academic dishonesty will range from failing an assignment or the course.

Weekly In-class Discussions: 35%
   Provides students a chance to use weekly language targets to discuss topics related to corporate cultures
Weekly Vocabulary Quizzes: 25%
   Tests students acquisition and use of vocabulary necessary for fluency and accuracy in the field.
Online and Textbook Work: 10%
  Assist students in developing the language skills necessary to do the work of the class.
Final Activity: 30%
  Comprehensive evaluation of students' mastery of the topics.
